Lazy Sunday in JB: Laksa, Sate Jawa, & bookstore finds.
Ini entri bergambar. Perfect weekend getaway with loved ones. ðĨ°
Feeling a bit overwhelmed this week? Same here. It's like a mini mid-life crisis or something ðĪŠ I just didn't have the energy to do anything. I was feeling a bit down, to be honest. But as they say, when life throws lemons, put 'em in the fridge! Nanti-nantilah fikir. ð Instead of stressing out, I decided to take a break and spend some quality time with my Kesayangan. ð
Our Lazy Sunday Itinerary:
Laksa Johor Brunch at Briyani Goat Father ð
Kedai dah lama buka, tapi belum berkesempatan. Baru ni nak merasa. Laksa sedap, menepati citarasa rakyat Johor sejati. Tempat makan selesa, even outdoor seating. Kena datang lagi sekali, next time kena cuba Nasi Briyani kambing or lamb shank; heard its legendary.
Sate ðĒ Jawa Inul Larkin
Next up, the legendary Sate Jawa. I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be the best Sate Jawa in the world. If you're anywhere near Larkin, this is a must-try. The secret, I believe, lies in the subtle marinade that lets the natural sweetness of the meat shine. The cuts are perfect – tender and juicy. And then there's that kuah kicap – a magical blend of spices that elevates the whole experience. Truly unforgettable.
ðĐ Dunkin' Donuts
Remember those weekends balik outing bermalam? I'm studying in a boarding school nearby but the anticipation of heading home was almost unbearable. We'd pile onto the bus 224 at Larkin Terminal, bags packed and spirits high ð. And of course, no trip was complete without a bag of Dunkin' Donuts. It was a ritual – those warm, sweet treats making the journey home feel even shorter. Honestly, I think those donuts tasted better back then. Maybe it was the excitement of being home, or maybe they actually were softer. ðĪ
Jollibee ð
We ventured into the new Larkin Junction Mall and decided to finally try Jollibee. Honestly? It was hmm, okay. Don't get me wrong, it was decent, but maybe I've been spoiled by other fast-food joints.
Popular Bookstore ð
We both love to go to grocery stores, home improvement stores, and especially bookstores. It's always fun to browse through books. They often have great deals and sales. You should check out their electronics section. I've been thinking about setting up a cute workspace with those adorable keyboards and tetikus I saw there.
Decathlon
A quick stop at Decathlon for a new soccer ball for Yusuf. ⚽️ Gotta keep the little one active!
Aunt Anne's Pretzel
To cap off the day, we grabbed some warm, buttery pretzels from Aunt Anne's; Almond Caramel of course. ðĨĻ The perfect ending to a perfect Sunday.
