Small Talk on Adam's Routine

How it's feel being a new mom? For me, being a new mom is a mood swing of emotions, up and down, puke, pee, poopoo and I'm right in the thick of it. 1 minute you're basking in the glow of newborn cuddles, and the next, you're questioning your life choices while staring at a mountain of laundry. The sleepless nights, the endless feedings, and the constant worry about my little one's well-being can be overwhelming.

But in between the chaos, there are also moments of pure joy and unconditional love that make it all worth it❤️. In this post, I'll share a glimpse into my world as a new mom, from the struggles to the victories. Welcome to my world!

New Mom Life: Surviving the Chaos One Diaper at a Time
Just got back from a super tiring trip to Pasir Gudang, KL, and Ipoh. Clothes are still damp, Baby Adam's clothes are still unfolded, and I haven't even graded my students' quizzes yet. Aduhai. The to-do list is endless. I really need a real vacation, but I guess I'll have to wait until Adam is at least 2. I'm planning a trip to Bali for our anniversary, but who knows if we'll even get the time off. Maybe a staycation at Legoland will have to do.

I don't usually blog about being a new mom, but I think I need to vent a bit. Back to the topic: Adam's routine. I'm not good with words, so here's a rough schedule:

6:30 AM: Wake up, feed him, play, and then he goes back to sleep until...
9:00 AM: If he's still asleep, I wake him up, feed him, bathe him, and play.
11:30 AM: Nap until 1:00 PM, then feed, play, and nap again until 2:30 PM. Repeat.
4:30 PM: Wake up, bathe, and go to the playground. I'm too lazy to cook, so we usually eat out.
6:30 PM: Home, play, and read to him.
8 PM, 10 PM, 12 AM, 2 AM, 4 AM: Feed and sleep.

Adam is such a fussy baby, just like his mom, I guess. He hates being on the floor, in a rocker, or in a swing. He just wants to be held 24/7. If you put him down, he screams his head off. But the moment you pick him up, he's all smiles. Smart kid! Sometimes, I just want to bite his cute little feet when he's crying so loud. I've even recorded his crying voice to play back to him when he's older. He needs to know how annoying he can be!

Adam smiling brightly, showing how much he’s grown.
From tiny toes to big dreams, Adam’s journey continues.

On the bright side, he's a great sleeper at night. He only wakes up every 2 hours for a feed and then goes right back to sleep, sometimes even smiling. I'm so grateful for that.

Adam is almost 4 months old now. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love being his mom.

So, new moms out there, how do you stay sane?

And there you have it, kawan-kawan! A glimpse into the chaotic yet beautiful world of motherhood. Every day is a new adventure, and I'm learning to navigate this journey one diaper change at a time.

It's tough, but it's also incredibly rewarding. Seeing Adam grow and develop is the most amazing thing in the world. ❤️
